Huan Yang

PhD student, 2014-2019

Hunan Provincial Health Commission

阳欢(Huan Yang)

Huan was born and raised up in Liuyang, Hunan province. After obtaining her BSc in chemistry from Hunan Normal University, she was enrolled as a graduate student at Tsinghua University and joined the research group in September, 2014.

Her primary research topic was the study on the mechanism of the base-promoted homolytic aromatic substitution (BHAS) reaction, and the design of novel small molecule promoters for the BHAS reaction based on mechanistic understanding. During her PhD work, she discovered two amine-type promoter molecules that exhibited superior reactivity and intriguing reaction mechanism, and developed a novel method for umpolung hydroboration of pyridines based on the N-boryl pyridyl chemistry.

In July, 2019 she obtained her PhD degree and decided to serve the society with her scientific training. Currently, she is working as a civil servant of the Hunan Povincial Health Commission in Changsha.
