The city of Sanya, Hainan hosted the 18th International Conference on Cutting-Edge Organic Chemistry in Asia (ICCEOCA-18) at the Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City. Organized by East China Normal University (ECNU) and hosted by the ECNU Hainan Research Institute, the conference convened a distinguished gathering of organic chemists, interdisciplinary researchers, and young scholars from across Asia, including Mainland China, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

Since its inception in 2005, ICCEOCA has grown into a premier academic series within the Asian chemistry community, renowned for fostering collaboration and showcasing groundbreaking research. ICCEOCA-18 lived up to this legacy, providing a dynamic forum for in-depth discussions on cutting-edge topics including organic synthesis, bioorganic chemistry, photoredox-/electrocatalysis, metal catalysis, pharmaceutical synthesis, and polymer chemistry.
Prof. Jiao delivered an invited lecture titled “Palladium-Olefin Cooperative Catalysis”, sharing our latest innovative research findings with the international audience, and was honored with the Asian Core Program (ACP) Lectureship Award (from Japan).

As part of this award, Prof. Jiao has been invited to undertake a week-long lecture tour in Japan during 2026.
