Yu-Jie Wang

PhD student, 2015-2020

Nantou High School Shenzhen

王雨洁(Yu-Jie Wang)

Yu-Jie was born in Xiantao, Hubei province. After obtaining her BSc in chemistry at Hefei University of Technology, she joined the research group in September, 2015 to start her graduate study.

Her primary research work focused on the development of novel ligands for Pd(II) catalysis. She performed intensive mechanistic studies and developed sulfoxide-2-hydroxypyridine (SOHP) ligand as a cooperative ligand for the Pd(II)-catalyzed aerobic C-H functionalization, which was able to tune the regioselectivity of the oxidative Heck reaction of indole. In addition, in order to facilitate kinetic measurements for mechanistic study, she developed a set of isopiestic gas-uptake rate measurement apparatus. She is good at performing careful mechanistic experiments and chemical synthesis.

In August, 2020 she obtained her PhD degree and became a high school chemistry teacher in Shenzhen.
