PhD student, class of 2019

Tsinghua University

袁晨晖(Chen-Hui Yuan)

Chen-Hui was born and raised in Jiangxi, a humid southern province in China. He left Jiangxi to pursuit his undergraduate degree in applied chemistry at China Agricultural University. While at CAU, he worked with Prof. Zhenhua Zhang on the Pd/Rh-catalyzed nitrene coupling reactions. After finishing his bachelor’s degree, Chen-Hui came to Tsinghua University and joined the Jiao group, where he continued his strong interest in transition-metal catalysis. He is currently carrying out his PhD study on ligand design for Pd-Catalyzed C(sp3)-H functionalization. Outside the lab, Chen-Hui enjoys reading, hiking, and travelling.
